  • Intelligent climate control — flap walls and curtains open and close automatically based on real-time temperature and humidity readings
  • Terrain-adapting predator skirt — a flexible, electrified bottom skirt that contours to uneven ground to seal out ground-level predators
  • App monitoring and diagnostics — live movement scheduling, temperature and feed/water metrics, and camera feeds, with modular parts designed for self-installed replacement

The Story Behind the Name

  • Kiseki no Ringo — the true story of a Japanese farmer who spent years trying to grow apples without any pesticides or fertiliser, through repeated crop failure and near-ruin
  • The breakthrough came only after he stopped fighting the orchard's ecosystem and instead worked to restore the health of the soil beneath it
  • The core lesson: resilient, lasting yield comes from balance in the whole system, not from suppressing problems with chemical inputs
  • Natural methods take patience — soil and ecosystem restoration works over years, not one growing season
  • This is the philosophy behind Aarcadia's belief that yield and sustainability are not a trade-off

Natural Deep-Litter Floor & Microbe Management

  • Wood shavings collected from local sawmills are added to coop floors to supplement the deep-litter bedding
  • The floor is built in layers of natural soil, pasture grass and microbes, and wood shavings — over time, beneficial microbes decompose the shavings together with the manure, removing odour and converting the bedding into edible bio-nutrients for the birds
  • A weekly spray of home-brewed lactic acid bacteria (fermented from milk) and enzymes accelerates manure decomposition and keeps the microbial balance healthy

Natural Coop Design & Thermal Adaptation

  • Off-grid coops rely on natural convection instead of powered exhaust fans — hot air exits through top vents while cool air is drawn in low
  • Elevated wooden perches let birds roost off the ground, matching their natural instinct for security
  • Chicks are raised without artificial heat lamps, so they develop dense natural down alongside flight feathers — building resilience to sudden weather changes and heavy rain without falling ill

Fermented Forage & Natural Diet

  • Fresh forage — Napier grass, flowering choy sum, rubber seeds, ginseng leaves, and papaya — is harvested on-site; flowering greens add natural carotenoids for richer egg yolks
  • Chopped greens and fruit are packed tightly by hand to remove air pockets, topped with a layer of wheat bran, and sealed to ferment anaerobically for 24 to 72 hours
  • Feed portions are adjusted for flock weight and weather — ration volumes are reduced during hot, dry spells when birds naturally eat less
  • Off-grade pineapple and peel by-products are fermented in-house into a natural probiotic and enzyme solution, drawing on our team's biotechnology expertise
